Useless Weapons

Carrying these weapons will actually make you LESS safe.
Check the facts and decide for yourself:

Air Taser with 1 cartridge installed & 1 reload cartridge, $239 to $299

Shoots two separate darts towards attacker; Darts have barbs to make them hook in clothing, and trail wires to transmit electric shocks.

PROS - The Air Taser is a good non-lethal weapon suitable for law enforcement where you have a sidearm and other cops as back-up.

CONS - The Air Taser gives you just one shot: Both darts must hit the target on the first try, and both must stay hooked. If one or the other dart misses or drops you must install the reload cartridge before you can fire again. Not always effective either --- Rodney King had Taser wires on him and it sure didn't keep him down.

Stun Gun from $29 to $99

Pushed up against body and held there for 2 to 5 seconds to transmit high-voltage shocks.

PROS --- Stun guns are suitable for prodding people and animals that are not armed, such as inmates, demonstrators, cattle.

CONS --- Stun guns are not so good against opponents that can fight back. That's because stun guns have zero range --- they don't work over a distance like sprays. What's more, the attacker isn't going to hold still for you but will be busy hurting you with his fists, knife, etc.

Knife from $9 to $299

The knife is not useful for self-defense because it has no stopping power - in many fights 20 to 30 knife wounds have to be inflicted before the opponent will stop coming at you.

PROS - Deadly in the hands of professionals (on both sides of the law).

CONS - If you're thinking about defending yourself with a knife, you better have won some knife fights or it'll be taken from you in a heartbeat.

Door Knob Alarm from $9 to $29

Hung on the inner doorknob of your hotel or motel door, this alarm is supposed to go off when an intruder touches the outer knob.

PROS - None

CONS - Criminals defeat them easily by using a towel, gloves or piece of clothing as insulation (also to keep from leaving fingerprints).
